Leicester City’s up and coming Women’s team have completed 6 seasons which saw 4 successive promotions to gain a place in the FA Tesco Women’s Premier League Northern Division. The City side have grown in strength over the years and gained 3 League Cups, 4 Leagues and 4 County Cups in that short time. Supporting the Women’s team City have a strong Centre of Excellence with teams at U16, U14, U12 and U10 who compete in the West Midlands Centre of Excellence League, plus an Academy based at South Leicestershire College for U19’s playing against teams such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Charlton.
Over the years the club has seen 20 players involved with the International set up at various youth levels and continuously strives to produce more. Most notably Ex Captain Remi Allen gained over 20 caps at International level and is still heavily involved within the set up. The current Manager Craig White is in his 3rd season Managing the side after previously being manager back in 2005/06.
The youth development is the responsibility of Centre Director Rehanne Skinner who deals with the monitoring and structuring the progress of the Centre of Excellence and Academy players to produce more home grown talent for the Senior set up.
In terms of the football, City are a hardworking side that take nothing for granted and strive to be professional in every aspect possible. This includes ensuring we have the most qualified and experienced coaches to develop players with 8 Level 3 coaches, 1 Level 3 GK coach and 2 Level 2 coaches, plus a Chartered Physiotherapists and an Exercise Scientist. We also have quality training facilities including 3g and a quality home pitch in Oadby Town FC, Leicestershire.
